The 'Blob' Container

Holding tiny amounts of glue or paint

How to make a container for tiny amounts of glue or paint

There is sometimes a need to be able to temporarilly hold a very small amount of paint or glue and finding a very small container can be difficult.  Even if a suitable container is found then if you are using it to hold glue then it is unlikely to be able to be reused.

A solution to this dilema is the 'Blob' container.  Take a blob of 'Blue Tak', plastercine or similar maleable substance.  The amount will depend on the size of holder you want to make but one to two centimeters is usually sufficient.  Then take a postage stamp sized square of kitchen cooking foil (the extra strong type is best) and place it on top of the blob.

Using a pencil or similar blunt object press down on the foil and make a depression in the blob.  If you press a hole through the foil then try again but double over the foil to make it stronger.  You can make the depression as deep and wide as you need and, hey presto, you have a perfect container for a few drops of super glue or paint.  When you have finished simply remove and replace the foil.
